In 1988, Sonny John Moore was born in LA. A lot of people know him as Skrillex. For the first two years of his life he lived in Northeast Los Angeles, in the Highland Park neighborhood of Highland Park. When he was 2, he moved to the Forest Hill neighborhood of San Francisco, where he went to elementary school. He was taken in by family friends of his biological parents when he was born, and they raised him. He did not discover out about this until he was 15 years old. His parents moved him back to Northeast Los Angeles at the age of 12, after going to school in the Mojave Desert for two years at the ages of 9 and 10. Due to bullying at school, he was homeschooled from the age of 14 until he was 15. He dropped out of homeschooling when he was 15 years old. During his teenage years, Moore would go to punk shows and electro club raves to meet other people.
Music Career
Moore joined From First To Last in 2004. In 1999, the band was formed in Tampa, Florida. Moore is the lead singer, with Matt Good on lead guitar, Travis Richter on rhythm guitar, Matt Manning on bass, and Derek Bloom on drums. The first time band members heard him sing, they thought he would be a better lead singer. “Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Body Count” and “Heroine” are both albums by From First to Last. Moore is on both of these albums (2006). However, Moore left the band after having problems with his voice and having surgery on his vocal cords. Moore wanted to focus on his solo career.
After leaving From First to Last, Moore started releasing demos on MySpace. He also toured with a full band on the Team Sleep Tour with Monster in the Machine and Strata as back up acts. As part of the second AP Tour, which was organized by Alternative Press Magazine from March to May 2008, he went on the tour. All Time Low, The Rocket Summer, The Matches, and Forever the Sickest Kids were some of the other bands that went on tour with us, as well. The digital EP “Gypsyhook” was released by Sonny Moore in April 2009, and he went by that name.
At the beginning of 2008, Moore started making and performing music in Los Angeles clubs under the name Skrillex. His first album as Skrillex, “My Name Is Skrillex,” came out on June 7, 2010. In the fall of that year, he was signed to mau5trap recordings. He then went on a tour with deadmau5 across the country. Released his second album, “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprite.” This is what he did as well (2010).

Personal Life
They are Scientologists, but Moore said in a 2015 interview that he doesn’t believe in them and that he’s not. She died in 2015. This isn’t the first time his personal life has been kept quiet. In 2012, it was said that he and British singer Ellie Goulding were dating.
