Apple Incorporation provides the iOS mobile operating system. It is primarily intended for use with Apple mobile devices such as the iPhone and iPod Touch. It was formerly referred to as iPhone OS. It is a Unix-like operating system based on the Darwin(BSD) kernel. It is the second most popular mobile operating system in the world, after Android. It is mostly written in the C, C++, Objective-C, assembly code, and Swift programming languages. iOS’s initial version was released in 2007.
Android
Google LLC provides the Android mobile operating system. It is built on top of a modified Linux kernel and other open source applications. It is optimized for use with touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. It was written in C, Java, C++, and many more languages. Google announced the initial version of Android in 2008. Android 10 is the most recent stable version. It is completely free. It is the most widely used operating system on a global scale.
Similarities Between iOS and Android.
A few similarities between iOS and Android include the following:
- The fundamental functionality of iOS and Android are identical. Both iOS and Android smartphones include features such as calling, messaging, web browsing, video chat, maps, and voice commands.
- iOS and Android have a lot in common with their user interfaces. Both of these smartphones support swiping, tapping, pinching, and zooming.
- On both iOS and Android devices, a status bar displays similar information such as battery life, time, app notifications, and wifi.
