1. In general, go with natural fabrics, particularly cotton.

Some doctors advise you can get away with wearing a pair of underwear two days in a row if there isn’t much sweat or discharge. If vaginal discharge buildup causes you to become uncomfortable, you can change them more than once a day.

3. Go commando at night to air out the moisture.

Whether or not it’s healthy to go to bed without wearing underwear is a topic of much debate.

4. Only wear sweat-wicking underwear for exercise.

The main reason for this is because they rest against your more delicate skin for a long time. Because anything soapy or chemical near the vulva can cause irritation, itching, and allergic reactions, doctors advise washing them with mild, hypoallergenic soap.

6. At least once a year, you should replace your underwear.

Especially for something that is frequently washed, it seems a touch excessive. According to the National Health Service, even spotless underpants can harbour up to 10,000 active bacteria.
